I met up with Adam & Nancy around Castlefield in Manchester for their pre wedding shoot or engagement shoot as some call it . They are both familiar with the area as they live in Ancoats which is just 5 minuets away. It was a relaxed shoot, Adam and Nancy made it easy for me as they are such a wonderful couple to work with and was happy to take my lead.
They wanted an urban shoot and what better place to have it, than here, Manchester my home town also . The area is quite popular with walkers, who come to have a stroll along the canal and grab a spot of lunch in one of the many bars around . The industrial area is ideal for what they wanted and the images speak for themselves.
As with most photo shoots, I just ask the couples to be themselves, do what they do best and show some love for each other. It’s that that is captured , after all you will be spending the rest of your lives together
Sometimes all that is needed is a gentle guidance from me and that’s it , ………………………………………… the love and laughter shines through.
It’s not surprising why I really enjoy my job !
If you would like more information on my weddings , pre wedding shoots and my family location shoots , go have a look at more of my work and get in touch. Happy to discuss all aspects of what I do and meet you for coffee

Urban Manchester engagement shoot
Faye and Dom wanted an urban engagement shoot , so what better place to have this than my home town Manchester, Ancoat to be precise . This up and coming area is being developed beyond recognition . With the quirky eateries and long walks along the canals , it makes for a brilliant backdrop. You don’t have to look far around this area to see the various artists work of graffiti around this area and the Northern Quarter. I wanted to use that backdrop on Faye & Dom’s shoot.
“Can I bring my dog on the shoot ?” ……………………..absolutely , I love animals , have a bit of a soft spot for dogs I have to say , So I was delighted that Bruce would be joining us. With treats in the pocket , for Bruce (not them) we headed off to the canal and backstreets . Bruce stole the show where bribes were on hand for him to pose like a true model dog .
Bruce , how absolutely cute and well behaved he was when we took in down to the Manchester Canal . Seemed to enjoy all the fuss. Oh and the dog treats went down well , here he is liking his lips !!!
Go and have a look around Manchester for the fantastic graffiti in urban Manchester . You cant really miss the great works of art that is all around this area of Northern Quarter and Ancoats

What you can expect from a Family Lifestyle Location shoot=plenty of fun
I don’t have a studio, those clinical style white backgrounds have never appealed to me. My studio is local parks in Whitefield and Prestwich, but I do travel to other locations , even parks that mean something to you , It could be that special place where it was your backdrop as a child. I even travel to shoot at the beach . Formby is another amazing setting with beautiful sands dunes. Read More

Dunkenhalgh Hotel Clayton Le Moors in Blackburn, The hotel that looks like a castle !!
In a stunning setting. It’s the most picturesque landscape, with rolling hills (and cows) in what looks like the back garden. This was the venue choice for Robin and Nichola’s wedding.
I first meet Nichola and her mum to discuss what they wanted from me to capture their wedding day . We discussed all aspects of how I would capture the day as a story book, using my style of documentary photography, shooting everything as the day unfolded. Even the wedding shoes ;). Read More
